לאי מרקו בפלורידה אחרי מסע עסקים קצר מעבר לים. אני שמח להיות חזרה במקום
בו השמש זורחת מדי יום והטמפרטורות נעימות ואינן קיצוניות. למרות התנאים
המתונים והתנאים דמויי האביב/קיץ מוקדם, לא ניתן לראות כל פעילות של
ציפורים באזור. למעשה, מעט מאוד ציפורים נראות בחצר האחורית שלי? אני מנחש
כי כל הציפורים חורפות באזורים חמים יותר ומחכות לבוא האביב?
בשנת 2000, 12 מגדלי
גולדנים מאזור טראוואגליאטו הקימו את ה-A.O.F. Associazione
Ornicultori Franciacorta. בתוך 6 שנים בלבד, בשנת 2006 ה-AOF
גדל ליותר מ-100 חברים. החברים מגיעים מאזורים שונים של
איטליה, ומספר החברים ממשיך ועולה.
ב-8,9 וה-10 לספטמבר ה-AOF
התערוכה השנתית של ה-AOF נערכה
בטראוואגליאטו (ברסייה) באיטליה - ליד מילאנו.
879 גולדנים הובאו לתחרות
באולם תצוגה ענק, מקושט ומואר היטב. בין 879 הגולדנים היו 180 זכרים בצבע
טבעי ו-104 נקבות. באופן אירוני, הזוכה בפרס הציפור הטובה בתערוכה עם 94
נקודות היה גולדן ירוק, בעל ראש שחור וחזה לבן (במקרה זה גם הסוג החביב
עלי). רק ציפור אחת זכתה ב-94 נקודות, 3 ב-93 נקודות, 11 ב-92, ו-200 ב-89,
כאשר כל השאר זכו במעט פחות. רק מתחרה אחד מתוך ה-879 זכה ב-82 נקודות. רוב
הזוכים היו בצבע טבעי (ירוק).
כל גולדיאן בתערוכה נישפט
עם גיליון ניקוד אישי, על ידי כמה שופטים באיכות מקצועית, אשר עקבו בקפידה
אחרי הסטנדרט לשיפוט גולדנים בלבד. לא הותר שיפוט השוואתי בתערוכה זו, כמו
בכל התחרויות שנערכו בשנה זו ובשנים אחרות בכל אירופה. האם אתם יכולים

I am back in Marco Island,
Florida after a short business trip overseas. I am glad to be back where
the sun is shining everyday and the temperature is pleasant and mild.
Even though, the temperature is very mild, Spring/Early Summer
conditions prevail, practically everyday, no species of birds are
displaying any breeding activity any where in this area. In fact not
many birds are visible in my huge backyard? I guess, all birds are
wintering in some warmer areas and waiting for the spring to arrive?
In the year 2000, 12 Gouldian Breeders
from the Travagliato area, has formed the A.O.F. Associazione
Ornicultori Franciacorta. In only 6 years, and, in the Year 2006 the
A.O.F grew over 100 members. Memberships are from many parts of Italy,
and the membership continuously is growing in numbers.
On September, 8, 9, and 10, 2006, the
A.O.F. yearly Gouldian finches exhibition, took place in Travagliato
(Brescia) Italy—Near Milano—
879 colorful Gouldians where placed in
competition in the huge, well decorated, and well lit exhibition hall.
Among, the 879 exhibited there were 180 original color males and 104
original color females. Ironically the best in show which scored 94
points was a beautiful Green Back black head, white chest male.
(Coincidentally this type of specimen is my favorite). Only one
exhibited score 94 points, 3 exhibited score 93 points, 11 score 92
points, 200 exhibited score 89 points, and the rest of the entry score a
little less than 89 points. Only one exhibited from 879 entries, scored
82 points. The majority of the winners were original color specimen.
Every Gouldian in this exhibition was
judge with individual score sheet, by several professional qualified
judges, that strictly fallow the standard of judging for Gouldian
finches only. No comparison judging was permitted in this exhibition as
well in all the other exhibitions that every year are taking place in
all the country of the mainland of Europe. Can you imagine a fairely

In this event, every mutation of the
Gouldian finches was well represented in numbers, including Yellows,
Silvers, Blues and all the others known mutations of these beautiful and
colorful birds.
The membership of A.O.F. participated in
large groups with considerable number of entry in most exhibitions in
many parts of Italy and in the past years, they travel and exbited in
many country of the European community.
